The vanilla Google Pixel 8 series is expected to be unveiled at the company's I/O 2023 event in May. As we get closer to Google's annual event, more leaks about the next-gen Pixel models are starting to surface. Recently, alleged case renders of the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro have surfaced online. With cutouts for the camera and microphone, they suggest the same design language as their predecessor, the Pixel 7 series. The Pixel 8 is tipped to feature a raised camera bar with curved edges.
A report by TechGoing has posted alleged renders of the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro cases. They are found below the cut-out for the power button and the volume rockers on the spines on the right edge, and the speaker and USB Type-C port. There is a cut-out at the back to reveal the camera unit.
Case renders of the Google Pixel 8 suggest a raised camera bar with curved edges, similar to its predecessor. It seems to have a dual rear camera unit. A microphone and LED flash are also seen arranged on the camera bar. The Pixel 8 Pro's case also features a horizontal camera bar with curved edges. It is seen to have a triple rear camera unit along with LED flash. The new renders are consistent with previous leaks.
Google is all set to host its I/O 2023 event on 10 MAY. During the event, the tech giant is expected to introduce the Pixel 8 series, Pixel 7a, and possibly the Pixel Fold as well.
A new Tensor chip based on Samsung's Exynos 2300 SoC is expected to power the new Pixel handsets.
The Google Pixel 8 features a 6.16-inch display, while the Pixel 8 Pro may feature a 6.7-inch panel. Both the models are said to come with a center-aligned hole-punch cutout to house the selfie sensor.
Additionally, it looks like the Pixel 8 will have a USB Type-C connector and a speaker grill on its bottom edge, while the power and volume buttons will be on its right side. The dimensions of the phone are reportedly 150.5mm x 70.8mm x 8.9mm, and 12mm considering the camera module.
