Rajkotupdates.news : TCS receives Rs. 15,000 crore advance order received

TCS has bagged a purchase order from BSNL worth Rs.15,000 crore. The order is for deployment of 4G network across India.

BSNL has been talking about launching 4G services from 2019 but in 2020, it was forced to cancel the tender due to restrictive conditions for domestic companies.

After that, telecom operators were asked by the government to use only devices from local companies. BSNL has already partnered with TCS, Tejas Networks, and C-DoT (Center for Development of Telematics) for Rs. 200 crore POC has worked to test indigenous 4G technology.

State-owned Bharat Sanchar Nigam (BSNL) on April 22 launched 4G services in pilot mode in parts of Punjab as part of the formal rollout of 4G services. The company has started live testing of its 4G services with 135 tower sites using an indigenous telecom stack.

TCS (Tata Consultancy Services) an Indian multinational IT services and consulting company recently won a significant purchase order from India's leading state-owned telecommunications company, Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL). The order is worth Rs 15,000 crore, which is approximately $2.04 billion.

The purpose of this purchase order is to facilitate the deployment of 4G network infrastructure at various locations in India. TCS will be responsible for end-to-end execution of the project including installation, configuration and maintenance of network equipment and systems required for 4G network rollout.

This strategic collaboration between TCS and BSNL aims to enhance the connectivity and communication capabilities of BSNL's services across the country. The introduction of 4G technology is expected to significantly improve network speed, data transfer rate and overall user experience for BSNL customers.

The implementation of the project will involve leveraging TCS's extensive expertise in network deployment as well as its technical expertise in areas such as cloud computing, data analytics and security. TCS's strong track record in delivering large-scale IT projects and its deep understanding of the Indian telecommunications market have contributed to the company securing this significant purchase order.

By partnering with TCS for 4G network deployment, BSNL aims to strengthen its competitive position in the Indian telecom market, which is experiencing rapid growth and increasing demand for high-speed connectivity. This collaboration is an important milestone for both TCS and BSNL and is expected to positively impact the digital transformation and connectivity landscape in India.
